Andrea waits silently for the cubs to withdraw from the lupus. Broken
Charge goes back into her den without bidding the others goodbye.

Blotches's tail wags faintly, before she turns and pads up out of the
valley.

Speaks-Straight pauses in thought a bit before she goes herself.

Blotches settles to her haunches, watching as Speaks arrives. We wait
here? The Gnawer cub's head tilts with the query.

Speaks-Straight isn't sure. She trots up to Kevin, looking up at him. So
who are our friends, she asks, point her snout towards the shadowy
movements that she's been watching for some time now.

Blotches whines faintly, turning her muzzle and scratching under her
chin with a rear paw for a moment.

The closest shadow steps from the trees when indicated. The scarred
lupus regards Speaks-Straight coolly from beneath grizzled black
brows. Obviously one of the urrah from his dog-tainted heritage, the
lupus moves to stand next to Kevin. He makes no noise. As he turns his
head toward Kevin, a thick scar can be seen twisting the fur and flesh
under the jawline. Kevin lowers a hand toward the dog, then says
offhandedly, "Just my boys." The Guardian alpha glances toward Andrea,
who approaches without speaking, then back at Coda. "You done, or done
for now, or what?"

Speaks-Straight thinks we're done for now.

Blotches sneezes, then mimicks a human nod to the urrah before glancing
up to Andrea, then Kevin, ears perked and listening.

Kevin cracks his thumb joints and nods shortly. "So you need a room, or
do you like denning outside?" The urrah lupus flicks his ears toward
Blotches, then away. He makes no move to introduce himself. Andrea
nods at Blotches when the cub glances at her, but she doesn't answer
Kevin.

Blotches wags her tail lightly, before answering, Blotches sleep
anywhere, in out rain sun. Not mind or care.

Speaks-Straight prefers to be inside, actually.

Blotches scratches under a foreleg. Blotches can stay here, keep light
watch?

Kevin shakes his head. "You stay together, in or out."

Blotches drops her muzzle in assent.

Speaks-Straight looks over at Blotches. In?

Blotches flicks an ear. In.

Speaks-Straight looks up at Kevin. In.

Andrea nods in assent when Kevin looks at her. The blonde ahroun shrugs
in answer to Coda, then says, "This way, then." The lupus melts away
from the group, leaving the same procession as earlier in the evening.
Kevin doesn't speak until he reaches the fountain. Once there, he
pauses for everyone to catch up. "We're a caern of Cockroach," he says
bluntly, once everyone's there. "Mind your manners and watch your
step."

Speaks-Straight dips her head, and steps carefully.

Blotches flicks an ear in reply, muzzle working the air, gaze flitting
about in mild curiosity while padding carefully behind the group.

There's not much to be seen outside to justify the warning, but that
changes once inside the heavy wooden door that leads into the mansion
from a covered porch. Tiny cockroaches scatter as a new play of light
and shadow comes into their domain, followed by a blast of the cold
and damp air of the January night. When Kevin leads the trio to the
stairs, larger, sluggish roaches decorate the walls in irregular
intervals like some sort of weird modern art.

Blotches' ears flicker back and forth as she listens, the smell of the
insects somewhat welcome to her.

Speaks-Straight is very careful not to step on a roach, more out of
squemishness than anything else.

Blotches trots lightly along, tongue lolling, grinning as she watches
Speaks toeing her way along, her own step rather easily avoiding
anything moving.

Andrea manages to keep her discomfort, if any, from showing on her face.
Kevin leads the group to a closed door in the hallway. Carefully
swinging it open, he motions the three inside. "Towels in the
bathroom. Everyone tends to have breakfast around 7, but go on and
nose through the fridge if you need to." A glance at the Bone Gnawer,
then he adds, "Clean up what you mess up is the general rule. Punch
the intercom if you need anything." He flicks the light on for the
room, then waits for everyone to go inside.

Speaks-Straight quickly goes inside with the promise of a hot shower.

Blotches wolf-grins at Kevin, tail wagging as her head dips. Blotches
will.
Blotches then pads past him.

Andrea closes the door behind the group. Inside the room are two full
beds with thick blue comforters. Blue roses on a cream background
decorate the wallpaper, and the headboards and other furniture are a
deep reddish brown. A closet door sits half-open, as does the door to
the bathroom.

Speaks-Straight looks around as she shifts upward to homid. "Nice."

Blotches heaves herself to her hind legs, growling lightly as she shifts
to her birthform.

Andrea brushes a few roaches from the bedspread to sit down and take off
her shoes. She nods at Coda. "Very." The damp leather laces take some
working.

Julie wanders to a chair and sinks into it after carefully relocating a
few of the flat insects, leaning back and closing her eyes.
