Three Children of Gaia cubs are sent through the Rite of Passage at a tribal moot.

The cubs wake in dream, with new personalities and no memory of being Garou. They find themselves far back in pre-history, when Garou still hunted humans.

Louisa's Story
In a log that got lost, Louisa chooses to run away from the village with her betrothed, before the monsters come during the full moon. She sees visions reminding her how to hunt and find shelter, and she and Richard do well until nightfall. Then a Black Fury pack come on the pair. Richard is killed, and only Louisa's knowledge of Mother Tongue has her brought back to the caern as an abnormality.

Louisa finds herself questioned by the Furies and gives an impromptu lesson on the Litany.
- Rite of Passage (part 5 - Louisa)
Louisa's questioning continues, but no breakthrough occurs. She speaks eloquently about the dangers of the Impergium to the alpha before falling asleep and waking again in her own body.
Lawrence and Adam's Story

Lawrence has disturbing dreams the night after the meeting and deals with his unsettling morning before going to the town centre to see a ritual on a possessed boy.

Adam has similiar dreams, but he takes them to the village wisewoman. Cinabar reacts with superstition and fear, calling for a ritual to cast out the possessing wolf spirit.

Adam begins to submit to the ritual, but stops. Lawrence attempts to incite the crowd against Cinabar, but it's too much change, too fast. The pair are expulled from the village. Adam finishes remembering himself, just before the Furies find the two cubs.

Adam's quick use of the Mother Tongue saves the pair from immediate death, and they say enough of interest that the Furies eventually bring them to a valley near the caern. (Since the pit in the caern itself has Louisa as a current occupant.)

Lawrence finishes remembering his true self and the cubs make plans.

The alpha of the Fury sept comes to question the two men, and they confess to her that they are Gaian cubs on a Rite of Passage in Dream.

The Fury Ritemistress comes to inspect the cubs, and then she and the alpha hear their final proposal. Adam stays as a willing sacrifice while Lawrence goes back to convince the village of what they must do.
