The Monastery of St. Cuthbert
Geography & General Features
Located on the road between Miles and Cleven, this monastary is only a few days outside of Cleven itself. Before the Forsaking, it would have been well within the city's sphere of influence. Now, the area is far more sparsely populated; even though farms are spreading around Cleven, they are mostly gathered more closely to the walls than this. The monastary itself, however, as is - was - the fashion of St. Cuthbert's order, is a fortified building.
Notable Inhabitants
Benedict
The Abbot of the monastary, Benedict leads the community here.
History
Before the Forsaking, this monastary was dedicated to St. Cuthbert; some of the residents were priests, while others were purely monastic. While their faith has not survived, their devotion to the monastic asceticism has. As a community, they have turned their attention away from gods of any sort - old or new - to focus on discipline, the potential innately within each of them, and the use of those things in aid of those who live nearby.
Stories of Note
Bert seemed to largely approve of the path the monks have chosen, and had no desire to let them know of his presence. That speaks well of him, I think. Benedict, I suspect, would have wanted nothing to do with Bert, either.
